Big Bear Lake is an alpine mountain top, 7,000 feet above Southern California. Clean air, towering Jeffery pines and a well stocked lake can provide a remote, peaceful weekend getaway as well an ideal destination for those looking for the perfect high altitude adventure outdoors. Plus, since we're only 2 hours east of Los Angeles, you can forget about travel worries too. It's never been easier to get away from your daily concerns and embrace our four-season getaway.

Summer temperatures remain mild and often breezy. Perfect for playing on the lake or enjoying our beautiful forests. Our Mountains are filled with nature. Bald Eagles, hawks and owls are commonly spotted. For more information on exploring our abundant wildlife, visit the Big Bear Discovery Center, a Forest Service partner.

Winter season brings snow! We have 2 full-size ski resorts with miles and miles of fresh snow from early December through April each year. Our resorts receive over 60 inches of natural snow each year and supplement that with two of the largest snowmaking systems in the world --- that means real snow and real fun, all season long.
